Loughborough University offers means-tested bursaries.

Tuition fees and financial support

The university provides comprehensive web pages that deal with tuition fees and all aspects of the financial support available to students.

Scholarships

The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers merit-based scholarships (for both UK/EU and International students) for undergraduates entering the BSc and MMath Mathematics programmes. The University also offers music and sport scholarships.

1st year merit Scholarships:

• £1000 in the 1st year only

• Awarded to students who start on any of the following programmes: BSc Mathematics, MMath Mathematics, BSc Mathematics with Mathematics Education, or BSc Mathematics with Statistics
AND make Loughborough their first choice,
AND achieve 380 UCAS points from 3 A-levels with A* in A-level Mathematics, plus any of the following: A at A-level Further Maths, grade 2 in STEP, merit at AEA.

2nd and 3rd year merit Scholarships (from 2013/14 onwards):

• £500 per year

• Awarded to top students who are in their 2nd and 3rd year of BSc or MMath Programmes

• Award is based on their performance in the previous years

• We expect to give around 10 scholarships in each of 2nd and 3rd years.

MMath Scholarships for 2011/12:

• The School of Mathematics offers the following scholarships for students progressing from year 3 of MMath to year 4:

1) £500 to any student getting an average of 70% or more in part C who is signed up for part D
or
2) Up to two £1500 scholarships for the top students in part C who are signed up for part D, on the proviso that they get an average of more than 75 % in part C.

• These will be awarded to students during their fourth year of the MMath programme.

• MMath Scholarships for 2012/13 and beyond are currently under discussion.
