Open problems in integrable systems

Supported by the London Mathematical Society


A lively two-day workshop on open problems related to integrable systems was held at Loughborough University, UK on 28 & 29 November 1997.

As well as the London Mathematical Society we would like to acknowledge financial support from the School of Mathematics, Loughborough University.

Speakers were given free rein to talk on any subject under the general meeting theme "open problems".

Saturday morning was kicked off by Peter Clarkson (Kent), right, followed by Thanasis Fokas (Imperial College). Thanasis is seen with Sasha Veselov below.

After lunch there was an informal round table discussion starting with Yuri Berest (Berkeley). Yuri is in the photo below with Sasha Veselov.

Afterwards we repaired to sample the delights of Loughborough on a wet Friday evening. Fine ale was consumed in the Tap and Spile followed by a chinese meal at Mr Chan's.
